So.....tonight begins the actual first workout of Insanity, Plyometric Cardio Circuit. For some reason, i do not like that word " plyometric". I will update with a new blog post after the workout, if i am able to. I have the video camera set up to record the action. That may take a little while to get posted though. Stay tuned....

Day 1 Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit
Just a few snapshots of the workout. Small workout area but we are making the best of what we have.Sylvia and I just completed (to the best of our abilities) this brutal workout. This is the first actual Insanity workout we have done and holy crap.....i would rather run a 10k in 98° heat ! I will say that i am very happy that neither of us gave up, rather we took breaks, caught our breath and kept on chugging along. This workout program is living up to its name so far. I don't think that running shoes and Insanity go together. I have blisters on top of blisters. I need to buy a pair of cross trainers i guess. I feel good that i made it through the entire workout without giving up, but then again, giving up isnt my style.

5 Little words for everyone
"Fit Test Is A Bitch."
That being said, we both survived it. Neither one of us passed out, puked or died, so that's a good sign. Just the warm up is a beast ! All the moves are deceptively difficult to do with full out maximum effort.I found the Power Knees to be the most difficult. I just couldn't get the rhythm down. I looked like a drunk white boy trying to dance. But we did it and we are happy (that its over). Sylvia dug deep and so did I. We are both proud of our selves for completing the 1st of the Insanity workouts. This will serve as a good benchmark to see how we both improved over the course of the next 2 months. We do the fit test every 12 days or so. Well, my hands are still shaking so i'm going to end this here. have a great night everyone....i'm heading to the showers......
Day 1 Insanity Starts tonight
If you are here for the first time, welcome to my blog. My own little piece of this world wide internet web thing.
If you are returning to my blog, welcome back and here we go again.....
Tonight Sylvia and I begin Shaun T's Insanity. And I have to admit that it scares me and excites me at the same time. I have always loved the Insanity infomercials. Every time it comes on, I have to watch it. It never fails to get me pumped up. I think that I loved them because the people in the commercials seriously looked like they were getting the asses handed to them, and apparently they were. No actors, no stand ins, just Shaun T and a room full of hard core, fitness junkies bringing it, digging deep and leaving pools of sweat on the floor. I can't wait to get started. Sweat is fat crying. And i love to make it cry, and make it cry a lot.
My girlfriend and I decided to do Insanity after she had completed 90 days of Les Mills Pump, and i had completed 90 days of P90X. I was going to do P90X2, but due to some tendon issues in both my arms, i am unable to do pull ups until they completely heal. Which could be many more months. Its already been more than 2 months but i find other ways to workout. I have been running and doing Les Mills Pump Hard Core Abs a few days a week. In my down time, i also became P90X certified, so now i can teach P90X one on one or in a gym. More on that in the months to come. Stay tuned.
Anyway, we will be following the Insanity Nutrition Guide religiously and the food is all prepared and portioned our for week 1 and wow, it is a lot of food to eat daily. I will be consuming nearly 3000 calories daily for the next month. And it is all good for me food, there is no junk, no treats, no ice cream rewards for a job well done, juts the needed fuel to get this job done. After cruising the forums and Team Beachbody message boards it would seem that I may have to up that calorie intake for the final month.
Sylvia and I have both achieved great results doing our respective workouts by just eating right and pressing play daily, but we have decided that if we follow the nutrition guide that is included (as recommended) we will be totally blown away with our results this time !
So, wish us luck, and stay tuned for daily updates, photos, and possibly video coverage of us getting our asses handed to us by Shaun T. ( and you may even hear Sylvia yelling at Shaun T during the workout)
Hope to see you back here soon !
